Our Next While I’m Here | The Legacy Project Has Launched!
By Brent Foster on April 3, 2017
Today, we released our latest While I’m Here | The Legacy Project story featuring the story of Nalongo—a retired midwife who now runs a clinic out of her own home—in rural Uganda.
Nalongo has a dream to one day build a clinic that offers more to her community. Something permanent that will be there to help mothers for generations to come. We hope that with your help we can help make this dream come true!
With the launch of the film, we have also created a GoFundMe page where you can take action and help Nalongo achieve this dream:
Together, we hope to be able to raise enough funding to build a permanent clinic which would provide women in the Lutengo district with the level of health care they deserve for themselves and their babies.
Here are just a few of the many benefits a new clinic will provide:
-Testing for STDs and viruses
-A cleaner environment to deliver babies
-A place to mentor and teach the next generation of nurses and midwives
-Access to family planning
-Multiple beds for expecting mothers
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to view Nalongo’s story, and a giant high five to those who are able to help out and give Nalongo the chance to better serve the mothers and children of her community! If you have the means to donate, please visit the site here:
